I grew up in East Haven, Connecticut, in a house full of second-generation Italian Americans — where everyone knew each other, food was always on the table, and family and community meant everything. My father was a union leader, and watching him show up for people when they needed him most taught me something I still carry today: there’s no better use of time than helping others navigate life’s hard parts.

That belief is what led me into financial services 15 years ago. I’ve always loved connecting with people, and I saw this field as a way to make a lasting impact, helping others find stability and confidence in a world that doesn’t always feel predictable.

A Purpose Built on Connection and Clarity

I studied economics at Assumption University, where my fascination with how money affects people’s lives deepened, especially watching the Great Recession unfold in real time. It showed me how interconnected our financial systems are, and how much difference clear guidance can make when things get complicated. Since then, I’ve built my career helping individuals and families take charge of their finances, from designing portfolios to structuring retirement income strategies. I focus on both the accumulation and distribution phases of retirement, with a strong focus on tax-managed income planning.

What I enjoy most is the moment when a client looks up from their plan, exhales, and finally says, “I didn’t realize I was going to be okay.” Those moments of relief, when confidence replaces anxiety, are why I do what I do.

Commitment to Community

Outside my advisory work, I stay deeply involved in the East Haven community. I currently serve as a Town Councilman and previously chaired the Board of Finance, overseeing a $100 million municipal budget. I also serve as a Leadership Giving Officer at Assumption University, helping to expand opportunities for students through philanthropy. To me, public service and financial planning come from the same place, a commitment to showing up, guiding thoughtfully, and building something better for the people around you.

Life at Home

I’m married to my wife Lisa, a registered nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital. We have a son, Richard III, and are expecting another in June 2026. My parents, Richard Sr. and Lori, are still in East Haven and are the kind of supportive grandparents you wish everyone had. Our household also includes a horse named Duncan, a dog named Kona, and a cat named Miles, each with a big personality. We recently bought our second home here in East Haven. This is where we’re raising our family and building the kind of community we want to be part of.

Beyond the Office

When I’m not working with clients, I’m likely on the baseball field umpiring for AAU baseball, on the golf course, at the beach, or in the kitchen cooking (especially Italian food). I stay active in local politics because giving back isn’t just a value, it’s a responsibility. Whether it’s through financial planning, public service, or a conversation across the table, I believe the best thing you can do is show up for people and help them find their way forward with confidence.
